Custom Foot Orthotics

Orthotics are a great way to help with issues related to walking and alignment, including knee, foot, and lower back pain. They help to stabilize and support the bones in the foot and ankle, and take stress off other parts of the body, such as the back, neck, shoulders, and hips. Custom foot orthotics also cushion your feet, provide comfort, support your arches, and evenly distribute your body weight to eliminate pressure on your feet.

How Do Orthotics Work?

A custom orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical applThiances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. Custom orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes - they reduce stress and strain on your body. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot by redirecting and reducing certain motion that takes place during the gait cycle. Custom orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole - and they have the advantage of having been made from precise imprints of your feet. Custom orthotics can be prescribed by your chiropractor, and last for many years in most cases. While over-the-counter shoe inserts are available at most stores, they lack the custom-built precision of a prescription orthotic. These ‘one-size-fits-all’ inserts rarely match your feet well, or provide the customized support you need.

The symptoms of poor foot mechanics can include any one of the following:

- Localized foot pain
- Bunions and hammer toes
- Arch and heel pain
- Leg and knee pain
- Hip and back pain
